Day trips · Segovia — 1 hr from Madrid
Planning a day in Segovia for the family or a group? We drive you door to door and the car waits all day — so you take in the Roman aqueduct, the old town and the hilltop Alcázar at your own pace, no train and no shared bus.
Segovia sits about an hour north-west of Madrid — a UNESCO-listed old town crowned by a fairytale Alcázar and anchored by a Roman aqueduct that has stood for nearly two thousand years. Streets of golden stone link the cathedral on the Plaza Mayor, Romanesque churches and viewpoints over the Castilian plain. With your own car and driver, a full day is plenty to see the highlights — with time left to sit down to Segovia’s famous roast suckling pig.

It’s only a suggestion — the car and driver stay with you all day, so you set the order and the pace.
Morning
We collect you from your Madrid hotel or address and drive north-west, arriving in about an hour. Start at the Plaza del Azoguejo, right beneath the Roman aqueduct, then climb into the old town along the Calle Real.
Late morning
Follow the Calle Real to the Plaza Mayor for the Gothic cathedral and the Iglesia de San Miguel, passing landmarks such as the Casa de los Picos and the Romanesque Iglesia de San Martín along the way.
Lunch
Break for a relaxed lunch — Segovia is famous for cochinillo asado, its slow-roasted suckling pig. There’s no clock to watch; the driver waits while you eat.
Afternoon
Finish at the Alcázar, the ship-shaped fortress-palace at the tip of the old town, and take in the views from a mirador such as the Mirador de la Canaleja. With time to spare, your driver can run you the fifteen to twenty minutes out to the royal gardens and palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso before you head home whenever you’re ready.

The old town and its aqueduct are a UNESCO World Heritage site, so much of the pleasure is simply walking between them.
A full day is ideal — with about an hour’s drive each way, you still have six or seven hours in the city. Segovia’s old town sits on a ridge and is largely pedestrian, so your driver drops you near the Plaza del Azoguejo, at the foot of the aqueduct, and picks you up wherever suits, handling the parking. From there it’s an easy walk up the Calle Real into the heart of the old town.
Yes — because the car and driver are yours for the day, many guests add the royal palace and gardens of La Granja de San Ildefonso, about fifteen to twenty minutes away, or pair Segovia with Ávila, roughly an hour on. Just tell us when you book so we plan the route and timings; it’s the same private car, at one fixed price agreed up front.
For most visitors, yes — Segovia is one of the most striking historic cities near Madrid, about an hour away, and a single day covers the Roman aqueduct, the cathedral and the Alcázar without feeling rushed. Going privately means no train times to catch and no shared bus, so you leave and return exactly when you like.
Tell us the date, the flight or the group — we'll handle the rest. Real people, any hour.
